Fostering Healthy YouthWelcome!  The Alliance for Wisconsin Youth brings together coalitions, individuals, and resources to prevent substance abuse and related behavioral health concerns affecting young people, and to promote positive youth development.

The Alliance’s mission is to enhance and support the capacity of local Alliances (member coalitions) in their prevention and youth development work. Over 100 local coalitions are members of the Alliance.

ALCOHOL POLICY IN WISCONSIN: Municipal Action to Promote a Positive Alcohol Environment   

 A specialized one day seminar wil be held for Local Elected & Appointed Officials, Law Enforcement, and Community Leaders and Coalitions. There will be two opportunities to listen, learn and converse: In Madison on Sep 22 at the Pyle Center and In Stevens Point on Sep 23. REGISTRATION OPENS Monday AUG 9.  $25 includes all materials and lunch. Learn about Wisconsin's Alcohol Policy Framework as well as topics of professional concern, such as The Alcohol Industry in the 21st Century, the Limits of Parental Authority and related issues in Underage Drinking, and Managing Evidence Based Change in a hostile environment.

STRYVE or Striving To Reduce Youth Violence Everywhere, is a national initiative, coordinated by the National Center for Injury Prevention at CDC, to prevent youth violence before it starts among young people ages 10 to 24. A cornerstone of this public health initiative is the STRYVE Web site, www.safeyouth.gov,  an online, interactive youth violence prevention resource center. Designed to help your community prevent youth violence before it starts, the site offers an up-to-date set of tools to plan, carry out, and evaluate sustainable youth violence prevention strategies that are based upon the best available evidence.
